Hotel Flooring Bristol, Kitchen Flooring Bristol & Bath, The busy kitchen at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bristol is seeing a boost in efficiency, thanks to the installation of brand new Altro safety flooring.
The flooring was installed by N&S Flooring over a two-week period, while the kitchen remained in full use. “The Radisson Blu kitchen is very busy so we had to work around them, but it all went very smoothly,” explained Nathan Sims, N&S Flooring Co-Director. Moisture had been a big problem with the existing flooring, so to ensure that this wouldn’t be an issue with the new flooring, N&S prepared the ground with AltroProof SoloTM. This is a one coat damp-proof membrane that provides a vapour barrier and offers protection in up to 97% relative humidity.
Radisson Blu site Manger Christopher Peach is delighted with the result. “The floor is great. It looks good, is easy to clean and waterproof. It does exactly what it needs to do in a kitchen; it’s hygienic and safe,” he said.
“Laying the floor was a painless process and N&S Flooring made a great job of working around us. It went down easily and the result is excellent. I had my reservations about laying the floor while the kitchen was in operation and I knew the limitations we could have faced. But the team had the old floor up and the new one down and sealed in a very short space of time. “The new flooring has now been in place for three months and is still looking good. It’s hard wearing and feels right. We are very happy with it and we’re now looking at using the flooring in some other back of house areas.”
